“Coming into our Inheritance” - Episode 22 in the series, “Letter to the Ephesians”

The Seminary of The Christian Community Season 4 Episode 35

What are the purposes which were implanted in the human being as seeds, from the beginning of our creation? If humanity is able to unfold these seeds, how would God be glorified? What is the effect of Christ’s arrival? And how does all this relate to inheritance and the seal of the Holy Spirit? Patrick and Jonah take us on a long journey as they explore Ephesians 1:12-14. The parable of the Prodigal Son serves as a guidepost and doorway into these deepest of Christian mysteries.

“In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”  Ephesians 1:12-14 (ESV)
